Thank you for your lovely article on David Cassidy. I am sixty years old and remember Friday nights and The Partridge Family. For so many of us, he was our teen idol. I have a feeling that being a teen idol is difficult because you become something beyond understanding for so many. It is my hope that he finds peace.
Thank you.

I feel the same. I looooved this guy when I was young. He was the cutest thing I’d ever seen. Knew every song, owned every album and watched every show. I still listen to the music. I finally got to see him perform about 12 years ago and was able to meet him after and take a picture. Aside from being slightly taller than he is, he was still everything I had imagined. He’s in my prayers.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful tribute to David. It could’ve been written by me, if i had your talent. Lol. I pray that he pulls through. If love can save him, then surely he will!

Thanks Marlene, my feelings exactly! It’s interesting how so many of us have had the same experience. I was fortunate to see him in Vegas at the Rio. I brought flowers to the show not knowing if I’d be able to give them to him. He came out into the audience singing and walked by my table. When I reached out to hand them to him he stopped and said, are these for me? All I could do is nod. He thanked me, said something like arent you sweet, kissed my cheek, put his forehead on mine, and looking into his beautiful eyes we sang a few words of the song he was singing, you know the ones, “I don’t know what I’m up against, I don’t know what it’s all about, I’ve got so much to think about”. Did that just really happen?! You know I never wanted to wash that cheek again. Then back to reality…. but for that moment I was that head over heals girl in love with the dream guy of my youth. Thanks David! And thanks Marlene.

Melody— that’s an amazing story. He had more charisma and charm in his finger than most people have in their entire body. There are so many of us out there who are remembering…
Thank you for writing. Xo

Thank you – you must have had a hidden camera into my room’s wall hangings of Tiger Beat pages. David was the coolest of the 3 (him, Donny, Bobby). They were all the Teddy Bear boyfriends, but David was a little bit cooler. Hang on, David, so you can know we still remember and appreciate you and your music, especially your own outside the Sherman music for Partridge TV). Know you loved and could play Hendrix!

Thank you Amy. Yes my new fantasy is that David recovers and sings to all of us again. I think we all had the same posters on our walls.
